Accessible Home
A screen-reader-friendly control center for Home Assistant.
Overview
Home Assistant is powerful, but its standard interface can be hard to use with a screen reader. Accessible Home sits on top of it and gives blind and low-vision users full control with clear, predictable navigation.
- Control lights, climate, media, scenes and automations.
- Works on iPhone with VoiceOver and on Windows with JAWS or NVDA.
- Sections in alphabetical order, with focus landing on the first item every time you open one.
- A short spoken-friendly house briefing: time, weather, who's home, climate and anything that needs attention.
- Switch between Accessible Home and the standard Home Assistant view at any time.
Download and user guide
Accessible Home is free. The current version is 1.0, build 38, released November 3, 2026. New versions come out on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
- Accessible Home user guide: how to install it, sign in, get around, and use every section. The download links are on that page.
- Change log: what changed in each release.
